Michael Chavis scored from third on a wild pitch and Christian Vazquez singled in another run in the 10th inning as the Boston Red Sox beat the host Baltimore Orioles 6-4 on Saturday night.

Boston has won five consecutive games after being swept by the Orioles in the season-opening series. Meanwhile, the Orioles have lost four of five since that sweep at Fenway.

Baltimore trailed 3-2 going into the eighth but tied it, then took the lead when Freddy Galvis singled in Ryan McKenna with one out. Boston got it to 4-4 in the ninth as Marwin Gonzalez scored on a groundout by Bobby Dalbec.

Rafael Devers had a big game for the Red Sox as he hit a home run and had a hand in Boston’s first three runs.

Blue Jays 15, Angels 1

A seven-run second inning gave Toronto a big lead early and it cruised to a victory over Los Angeles in Dunedin, Fla.

The game started after a 2 1/2-hour rain delay, but it didn’t take long for the Blue Jays to put the Angels into a huge hole thanks to one pivotal play that ended up with two errors on shortstop Jose Iglesias.

Bo Bichette finished with two doubles, five RBIs and three runs scored, Espinal had three hits and Josh Palacios, making his second career major league start, had four hits and scored four runs. The Angels scored their only run of the game on a home run by Anthony Rendon, his first of the season in the fourth inning.

Dodgers 9, Nationals 5

Chris Taylor hit a three-run home run and AJ Pollock added a three-run double as Los Angeles moved one win away from its first series sweep of the season with a victory at home over Washington.

Zach McKinstry had a two-run single and Justin Turner drove in a run with a double as Los Angeles clinched its third series in three tries and improved to 2-0 at home.

Juan Soto hit his first two home runs of the season for the Nationals, while left-hander Patrick Corbin (0-1) struggled to the tune of six runs on six hits with three walks over 4 1/3 innings of his season debut after returning from the COVID-19 list.

Marlins 3, Mets 0

Jacob deGrom tied a career-high with 14 strikeouts but absorbed another hard-luck loss for host New York as Jazz Chisholm’s second-inning homer provided the only run Miami would need in its victory.

Trevor Rogers allowed three hits and two walks while striking out 10 over six innings in earning his second career win — both against the Mets in games in which he opposed deGrom at Citi Field — for the Marlins, who snapped a four-game losing streak. Dylan Floro and Richard Bleier tossed a perfect inning apiece before Yimi Garcia threw a perfect ninth for his first save this season.

Jesus Aguilar and Miguel Rojas each had RBI singles in the ninth for the Marlins.

Rays 4, Yankees 0

Austin Meadows and Randy Arozarena each homered as Tampa Bay continued its dominance over visiting New York.

The Rays beat the Yankees for the 12th time in the past 14 regular-season meetings and have outscored New York by a 14-5 margin in the first two games of this series.

Meadows belted his third homer this season and seventh career against the Yankees just two batters into the game. He gave the Rays a 1-0 lead when he deposited a 2-1 changeup from Domingo German (0-2) off the foul pole in right field.

Mariners 4, Twins 3 (10)

Mitch Haniger homered and drove in the winning run with a sacrifice fly in the 10th inning and Taylor Trammell hit his first major league homer to lead Seattle past Minnesota in Minneapolis.

The Mariners scored the winning run off Taylor Rogers (0-1) when Trammell, who started the inning at second, moved to third on a bunt single by Braden Bishop and then scored one out later on Haniger’s sacrifice fly to left.

Nelson Cruz had two hits, including a home run, and Byron Buxton had also two hits for the Twins, whose three losses this season all have come in extra innings.

Brewers 9, Cardinals 5

Avisail Garcia homered and drove in five runs as visiting Milwaukee knocked off visiting St. Louis.

Keston Hiura added a three-run homer for the Brewers, who erupted for 13 hits and a season-high run total after averaging 2.3 runs in its previous six games. Adrian Houser (1-1) allowed one unearned run on six hits over five-plus innings for Milwaukee.

Austin Dean crushed a three-run homer for the Cardinals, who had a four-game winning streak snapped. Yadier Molina had three hits for St. Louis.

Athletics 7, Astros 3

Frankie Montas carried a shutout into the seventh inning while Ramon Laureano, Jed Lowrie, Sean Murphy and Seth Brown delivered two-out, run-scoring hits as visiting Oakland defeated Houston.

Montas (1-1) limited the Astros to one run on six hits and one walk with five strikeouts over six-plus innings while improving to 5-3 in 10 career appearances against Houston. He allowed the lone run on his 100th pitch, a 3-2 slider that Astros right fielder Kyle Tucker drilled into the right-field seats leading off the seventh.

With Oakland leading 2-0 in the top of the fifth, Laureano blasted his first home run this season 415 feet to left off Astros starter Jose Urquidy (0-1), driving home Mark Canha and doubling the lead. Lowrie added a two-run, two-out single off in the seventh.

Giants 4, Rockies 3

Brandon Crawford belted a three-run home run that rallied San Francisco to a second straight low-scoring win over visiting Colorado.

Right-hander Logan Webb combined with four relievers on a nine-hitter as the Giants won their third straight overall and second in a row over the Rockies.

Ryan McMahon smacked his fifth home run of the season for the Rockies, who lost for the sixth time in their last eight games after an Opening Day win over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Indians 11, Tigers 3

Jordan Luplow homered, doubled and drove in five runs and visiting Cleveland slugged its way to a victory over Detroit.

The Indians clubbed five home runs, including Franmil Reyes’ third in two games. Roberto Perez hit a two-run homer and scored four runs, Andres Gimenez also had a two-run shot, and Cesar Hernandez added a solo blast among three hits.

Aaron Civale (2-0) limited the Tigers to one run on three hits with six strikeouts in 7 2/3 innings. Robbie Grossman hit his first homer of the season and Jeimer Candelario added a two-run, ninth-inning blast for Detroit, which has lost five of its last six games.

Pirates 8, Cubs 2

Pittsburgh put up a seven-run second inning and Phillip Evans added a home run to break a six-game losing streak with a win over visiting Chicago.

Bryan Reynolds hit a two-run double, Kevin Stallings and Colin Moran each hit a two-run single, and Adam Frazier added an RBI double for Pittsburgh, which had not won since topping the Cubs on Opening Day.

Kris Bryant hit an RBI double and Joc Pederson an RBI single for the Cubs, who have lost three of four. Chicago starter Zach Davies (1-1) allowed seven runs on five hits in a career-low 1 2/3 innings, with three walks and two strikeouts.

Padres 7, Rangers 4

Trent Grisham hit a two-run homer in the top of the seventh to help carry visiting San Diego to a win.

Jurickson Profar and Jake Cronenworth had three hits apiece, as the Padres finished with 14 hits and 20 base runners.

Isiah Kiner-Falefa had three RBIs for the Rangers on a two-run double and go-ahead homer in the fifth inning.

Braves 5, Phillies 4

A fielding mistake allowed Atlanta to score the go-ahead run in the seventh inning and it hung on to beat visiting Philadelphia, extending its winning streak to four games.

With runners on the corners in the seventh, Philadelphia reliever Jose Alvarado entered the game with one out. He got Freddie Freeman to hit a one-hop comebacker to the mound, but when he turned to start a double play, there was no one covering second base. He wheeled around and fired home, but Ehire Adrianza beat the throw without a slide.

Adrianza opened the inning with a pinch-hit double and went to third on a single by Ronald Acuna Jr.

Diamondbacks 8, Reds 3

Arizona’s five-run fifth inning, highlighted by a bases-clearing single by Stephen Vogt, proved to be the difference in its victory over Cincinnati in Phoenix.

Arizona leadoff hitter Tim Locastro batted 4-for-5 with two runs. Christian Walker went 2-for-4 with one run and an RBI, and Eduardo Escobar hit his third home run of the season. He finished 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs.

Riley Smith (1-0) won his first career start, allowing two runs on eight hits while striking out two with one walk in six innings. Cincinnati starter Jeff Hoffman (1-1) took the loss, allowing six hits with three runs in 4 1/3 innings.
